To begin with, I’m not writing a book or a story, guys. I enrolled for The Braver Goals full workshop and one thing we had to do was create our own heroine. The heroine is basically our future self. The original task was to draw but since I lack in that department I just created mine using stickers.
I have lots of cute girl stickers and it was hard picking up which one to go with but I eventually picked this girl. She looks fashionable, confident, plus she’s holding coffee and food–my favorite things in the world. She’s dressed up in something I wouldn’t normally wear but well, I can still see myself wearing her clothes. She’s looking ahead and I can sense that she is a little biiiiit nervous of the future. But look closely, she is determined to face it.
I put other stickers to symbolize other areas of her life. Firstly the plant stickers symbolizes growth. She wants to grow up to be the kind of woman she has always hoped to be: caring, generous, brave.
The food stickers (they look so real I’m getting hungry!) symbolizes gratefulness. She wants to stop focusing on the wrongs and failures and instead put her focus on what truly matters: blessings, wins and successes. Of course, she knows life without trials and problems isn’t possible, that’s why she’s also thankful for them. Through her problems she became wiser and braver.
The make-up stickers symbolizes her confidence. She’s ready to face people who intimidate her. She’s fearless and won’t let other people get her down.
She is also a well-traveled woman. She has explored cities, villages, countries she has always dreamed of going to and has met lots of new people.
She also knows her self-worth.She says no when she means it and says yes when she genuinely wants to do something. She doesn’t force relationships and let those who want to stay in her life, stay…those who want to go, go.
She is braver, generous, intentional with her goals, creative and radiating light to everyone around her.
She is Samantha. My alter ego. My heroine.
Having created this heroine of future self really helps me be intentional with my goals today so that my heroine will be a reality in the future. She won’t just be on a page but I will be her. If you want more journal prompts like this please join us at Braver Goals. This isn’t sponsored (I’m not famous enough to be sponsored hehe) but that online course will help you build mindful habits and launch the “thing” that you’ve been putting off for like ever.
What does your future self look like?
