Two weeks ago, I joined Arriane Serafico’s last project/challenge for the year which was “Finish 2018 Brave and Organized”. The main goal of this challenge is to get people in the proper mindset for the new year. Every week we tackle different areas in our lives and one journal prompt that we need to answer was:
Who are at least three people who really helped you grow this year?
The added challenge was to send each person a gratitude note. I want to let these awesome people know that they helped me grow this 2018 and I hope they help more people in the next year.
This lady is really something. This may be too dramatic for some but when Arriane hosts live chats and when she says something that really resonates with me I just get teary eyed. I confessed it to one of her live chats and she said that this happens often than I think. (I was so glad I’m not the only one who cries in those chats.) Arriane was one of the reason I got at least half of my 2018 goals done. I can’t for the magic she whips up in 2019.
I want to thank Aileen for introducing me to the KonMari method. I think I decluttered half, or even more than half of my stuff and whenever I want to purchase something I just ask myself “Will this bring me joy?”. It’s a habit that I would like to bring with me to 2019.
Through her Youtube videos I found out that Aileen was also feeling a little lost in her early 20s which is similar to what I am feeling now. Looking at her now, dreaming her dream life and teaching others how to do the same, makes me feel like I can do it too.
(Can I also say that one of my dreams is for Arriane and Aileen to collab? I can just imagine the wonderful conversation they’re going to have!)
They are obviously more than three people but I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to JM, Danica, Bianca, Ate Hazel, Inah and Miel for hosting this year’s event. I was feeling lonely with my journey as a book blogger but through Bookworms Unite I was able to meet fellow Filipino book lovers, bloggers and bookstagrammers. I strived to be active on Twitter so I can follow up with the amazing people I met on this event. I fell out with the bookish community last 2016 and for so long I wanted to feel like I belong again and because of this event I feel like somehow, I do again.
Now, I’m throwing the question back at you: who are at least three people who really helped you grow this year?
