There are books you finish, there are books you put in your DNF pile and there are books you just put on “pause” or on “hold”.
Sometimes when I start a book I immediately stop reading it. Not because it is bad but because I’m a big mood reader. I start these books and just end up putting them on my “pause” pile. Unfortunately this pile is getting bigger and I would like to read all of the titles but I’m just wary of starting some of them. So please give me reasons to read these beauties! There would also be a poll at the end of this post to vote which book I should prioritize!
First up is A Forest of A Thousand Lanterns. I got this from a subscription box last year. To be honest I’m not a fan of the cover because I’m scared of snakes. I keep hearing it’s an anti-hero kind of story which is super interesting but it’s usually a hit or miss with fantasy for me.
Most of my real life bookish friends have read Jane Eyre but I still haven’t. I’m just intimidated to read classics even though I heard this one is pretty easy to understand.
Back in 2015 I was so keen in reading The Lord of the Rings trilogy. I started collecting the books but I only own books 1 and 2. This book is one I’m intimidated to read. I feel like I just wouldn’t understand it. Maybe I should start with the movies??? I’ve watched it before but thanks to my memory I forgot all about it.
I was almost halfway to finishing To Kill A Mockingbird last 2015 (I guess 2015 was the year of attempting to read classics) and I just stopped. I guess I was just craving for Young Adult then.
Uncle Tom’s Cabin really intrigued me back in college. Again, I’m pretty intimidated by this book. I want to read it but I think it will take me a long time to finish it and right now I’m just all about reading all the books. (For reasons I can’t quite understand, WordPress is showing an HTTP error message when I attempt to upload the book cover even though I already tried other versions of the book.)
Have you read any of these? Which do you HIGHLY recommend? Or maybe you want to start one of these books too?
I’ve read Jane Eyre and Lord of the Rings. If you want to start reading classic again, i guess it would be good if you start with Jane Eyre because yes, it is easy to read despite being classic and there are a lot of exciting events. While LOTR is a bit hard because its an epic fantasy in classic mode (like super classic). Just my opinion though 😊
Ooooh I’m intrigued with those exciting events!;) Let me push that up my TBR.
